Outcome of the consultation in Carcaixent (Spain) :

175 individual compost bins (350 litres), with built-in aerators, for homes with gardens supported in

changing their behaviour. This will reduce the amount of organic waste that has to be sorted, transported

and processed by the local authority, and will encourage the use of compost in private and public gardens.

5 collective composting areas

each including 3x1m

composters, a fence with information displays, and

a container for branches, leaves and grass. 3 areas located in public places and parks, 2 located in schools with

canteens, for 400 pupils introduced to on-site composting.
