In a complementary move, the Med4Waste experience-sharing

initiative of the ENI CBC Med programme, to which AViTeM has

contributed on behalf of the MED-InA project, highlights other good

practices of solutions implemented in the Mediterranean.

These include the DECOST project, which aims to set up a closed-

loop organic waste recovery system in Spain, Italy, Jordan and

Palestine. This is being achieved by integrating decentralised

composting systems in homes and communities, as well as urban

agriculture, using a people-centred approach, empowering civil

society and building institutional capacity.
